Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my personal care needs can be met in a Licensed Community Care instead of a Manor/Nursing Home?
Completion of the Government (Dept. of Health) Senior’s Assessment Screening Tool (SAST) can determine the appropriate place for you or your loved one. SASTs are documents that describe physical and mental health challenges. They are typically completed in the hospital or by Government Home Care Staff.
Persons living at home who are looking for placement call contact your local Home Care and Support office to inquire about moving to a Community Care Centre and having a SAST completed.
What amenities can I expect to be in my room at a PiccottCare facility?
When you move into a PiccottCare facility, you can bring your own furniture or we can provide a bed, bedside table & lamp, dresser, chair & love seat, and a small dining table. We also provide bed linens, towels & facecloths. A signalling device on the wall and pendant that calls the staff is also provided.
Can a resident take their car?
Yes! You will be provided with a parking space.
